Need a Great Shave Kit?

I had reviewed a few School of  Wash products including kids bubble bath & dog shampoo.  I have even had the chance to try their roll on perfume and spray perfume.  I have never been disappointed.

My husband finally had his chance to try a product of theirs.  He got to review the Handcrafted Shaving  Mug, shaving brush, dusting powder, and shaving soap.  It was quite amusing watching us I am sure because I had never seen a shaving kit used and Hubby had never used one wither so where did we turn?  To the internet of course.  We had a general idea what to do but wasn't exactly sure what to do with the cup.  Do we put water in it for rinsing?  Is it for the brush when he is done?  If so then what is the brush holder for?  I was lost and he wasn't much better.

So where did we turn?  The internet of course!  We ended up watching a video on how to shave with a shaving kit.  We felt really silly sitting on the bed watching how to use a shaving kit!  But we had fun and made fun of our ignorance.  Who knew learning to shave could be fun!

So we finally learned that the soap went in the cup and how to "load" the brush with the soap to make it frothy and thick.  So into the bathroom we went.  No, I didn't stand there and watch him shave.  I left and left him to it.

After I asked him how it was and he liked it.  He said it worked as well as shaving cream, which is what he usually uses.  He has super sensitive skin, especially when shaving so was a little hesitant but went for it anyway.  He like the smell of the clay soap and loved the dusting powder which had a manly scent.   The biggest thing was he didn't get razor burn!  This is huge because he always gets razor burn.  Even a few days later he didn't develop razor burn.  He is hooked.

This shaving kit would make an awesome gift for any man in your life, husband, boyfriend, father, uncle, friends, or even your boss.  One thing I absolutely love about the kit is the soap has a hand stamped seal on the box.  I was impressed.  It showed me that each bar is handled by actual hands and not just some machine cranking them out 1,000 per minute.  I love this company because it is so personable.  The customer service is great and the products are to die for.

  1. LOL! Just a made a video with my daughter showing people how to use the shave cup and brush. My hubby loves the rose clay shave soap for the same reason - no razor burn. Steal half of his bar and try it on your legs - heaven!
I almost burned down my kitchen on that exact wax seal. They should tell you if you get the wax too hot the flame will jump. Insanity!

PS - Check out the article I wrote today on wet shaving - couple of pointers on the cup and brush. http://www.schoolofwash.com/how-to-continue-the-sexy-long-after-valentines-like-a-bond-girl/

As always, thanks for the wonderful review. You are the greatest!!! And thank hubby for being our Guinea pig.

    1. That is too funny! My mom and I once made our own candles when I was younger and we thought it would be awesome to add flower petals and things like that. Well it was very pretty but probably shouldn't have lit it! We almost burned down the bathroom! My dad was out of town at the time so I am not sure if he was ever told! lol
