Christmas is around the corner and you know what that means.  Yes, presents but before that think more like the beginning of the month.  Christmas Cards!  I know, I know, I love to send them to my friends and family too but it can be time consuming writing all the addresses.  Lovable Labels can help with that.  Or they can at least meet you half way.  While they cannot print individual labels for all your contacts they can at least help you with your own address labels!  I got mine today and and completely happy!  I love them!  Munchkin 2 loves them too because she got to pick the design.  I even got gift seals! The seals could even double as envelope seals because the envelopes that come with Christmas cards do not always have the best glue and to be honest it taste terrible.  Uck.  The set came with 90 address labels and 60 gift seals!  

ReUsies Snack and Sandwich Bags Review Giveaway

 
My family goes through countless numbers of plastic sandwich and snack bags.  My husband uses them when taking his lunch to work, we use them to store leftovers, we also use them to take snack along when we leave the house, and they are also used for odds and ends around the house.  As I am sure you know using so many plastic bags get expensive.  Not to mention it is not the best for the environment.  But...yes there is a but......I found a solution.

I have found the cutest little snack and sandwich bags!  ReUsies!  The are made from 100% cotton and the liner is nylon.  Sounds like it might leak right?  Well it doesn't!  They are completely leak resistant.  These have been perfect for my husband to take sandwiches to work and Munchkin 2 loves to use them for her snacks....even if we are at home.

They are super easy to clean too!  You can wash them by hand, stick them in the dishwasher or just toss them in with your wash in the washer and dryer!  As a busy mom that is a dream come true!  I love that I do not have to wash them by hand but if my dishwasher is not full yet then I can toss them in with a load of clothes.

The ReUsies sandwich and snack size set is super great because you can even fit a sandwich in the snack size as well.  The  bags have a velcro closure that is adujstable!  I find that fantastic!

Letter From Santa Review and Giveaway

We got the coolest surprise in the mail.  Alright I admit it, it wasn't for me.  It was for Munchkin 1.  And oh boy was he excited!  He got a letter from Santa!  I could not believe Santa took time out of his busy schedule to write a letter to my little boy but he did and the house was a flurry of excitement! 

The first thing Munchkin 1 noticed was there was not a return address....only a picture of Santa.  The letter was addressed to Munchkin 1.  And as you can see the post master was not sure about it either!

 We all stood around while Munchkin 1 read the letter.  As you can see even the cat was interested!  The letter addressed him by name which was awesome!  It then went on to tell him what a good boy he had been this year, even though Santa knew it was hard sometimes.  It also said to tell Munchkin 2 that she had been good as well and mentioned her by name!  The letter was very neat and we all were very thankful to have gotten it.

Caramel Without Cream???

I wanted to make caramel apples but didn't have any cream or condensed milk, or evaporated milk.  All I had was 1% milk and an almost full container of caramel & chocolate coffee creamer.  You cannot do any kind of caramel with milk.....it just turns into sweetened scolded milk and doesn't thicken because there is not enough fat.

 BUT...  I figured that the creamer had enough fats in it that the caramel would thicken.  Right?  Well I thought I would try it.  I didn't want to waste all my expensive creamer though if it was a total bust so I cut the recipe down by 3/4.  It made just enough to make one apple with a few little caramel "log" pieces on the side to play with.  

I tasted the caramel...it was good....has Munchkin 1 try it and tell me what he thought it tasted like.  "Caramel" he said.  Awesome, so it taste like what it is supposed to be....So I taste it again but this time with me willingness.  It was not only good, I think it was better with the coffee creamer than with regular cream!!  It added a depth to the flavor and was wonderful!! 

So now I am waiting on my hubby to get home to cut the apple and try it all together for the final decision but as of right now....it has a good chance.

Weirder Than Marshmallows Book Review

I was selected to review Weirder Than Marshmallows by Dan Fogg and was surprised.  Keep reading for my review.

I have to start by saying that this book was not what I thought it would be.  It knew it was supposed to be funny but was expecting it to be more jokes and less real life.  But I wasn't really exactly sure what to expect.

This book was amusing and so very true.  I found myself relating to many of the essays in this book.  Especially on that was about elections.  I thought that was had perfect timing.  I found it interesting that many of my own rants were in the book.  Made me feel like maybe I was not as crazy as I thought!

That’s Just Freaky

Weird Stuff

The first chapter immediately catches your attention and makes you keep reading out of pure anticipation of what will be said next.  Brilliant!

I love how they describe the book and how the title got it's name.  "I could rant about marshmallows forever.  But this book isn’t about marshmallows, this book is about stories.  Stories, that are, like marshmallows, strange, mind boggling, but somehow appealing to the public at large.  Hard to explain, impossible to ignore."

I couldn't have captured the book or marshmallows any better!

I love Daniel Fogg's honesty throughout the book and how many of his points are things I have wondered about myself.  It is a well written book that begs to be read.

Make sure you buy your copy of Weirder than Marshmallows today.  This book would make a great gift or stocking stuffer!
