Cooking and Conversations

Dinner time is a time for my family to get together and talk about our day.  It is one of my favorite parts of the day because it is the time that we are all together and can have some quality time together.  Any other time of the day we are spread out through the house or we aren't all home at the same time between work, school, friends, and running to the store.  It seems we don't always get as much time together as we would like but we cherish dinner time because of the time we get with each other.

 Okay so the title of the post is very unoriginal but I still think it is funny.  Do you like to bake?  I am sure I have mentioned before that I love to bake.  If not there it is....I love to bake.  It doesn't matter if it is cookies, cakes, or whatever.  It is fun and I love to do it.  Baking cookies just got a lot more fun with the mustache cookie cutters from fuzzy-ink.com.  Even their name is fun!

These are the first ever mustache cookie cutters.  They aren't cheap plastic either.  They are made from 100% stainless steel.  They are a great size too.  Measuring about 4"W x 1.25-1.5"T but vary a bit depending on the shape of the mustache.  These were so fun to play with.

I Found Gold!

I have found gold....Garlic Gold.  This is the most original kitchen food products I have run into.  It is garlic nuggets.  They are crunchy and delicious.  The Munchkins loved them.  I was pleased that I got so many different flavors to try out.  Sea Salt, Southwest Blend, Original, and Italian Blend.  I couldn't wait to try them when I opened the box.

As any other pet owner, I love my pets.  They are part of my family and I like to spoil them.  When I found out one of my favorite brands for "people food" also had pet products available as well I had to try them.....well my pets had to try them.  Even better is they carry foods for both cats and dogs so none of my pets were left out!  

I got a variety of pet food including wet food and dry food and my animals loved it all.  The wet food was an extra special treat for them since I do not feed them wet food on a regular basis.  They loved all the flavors.

I am one of those people who have a face shape that it is hard to find sunglasses for.  Every time I go into a store with a sunglass carousel I try on just about every pair hoping to find a pair that looks at least okay on my face, not even perfect, just okay but I hadn't found a pair.  My Hubby seemed to find this funny but I found it frustrating.  So needless to say I have been in Arizona (the desert) for 10 years now without a single pair of sunglasses.  Torture!

I didn't have very high expectations for the sunglasses because I figured I would order them and although I loved the look that they would be just like all the others....did fit my face well.  But I figured I would give it a try.  I went on the Firmoo site and choose my 2 pairs of sunglasses and then waited for them to come.  I loved that they sent me notifications and tracking when they were shipped so I knew when I would get them.

When they arrived I pulled them out and was surprised to find that they were packaged in hard cases.  They were also wrapped in a microfiber cloth.  I love that they came with a microfiber cloth because if you have ever worn glasses or sunglasses, cleaning them off with anything but a microfiber cloth will leave behind little lint particles.They also came with a itty bitty keychain screwdriver set for repairs.  Ans a ton of replacement screws.

Then the moment of truth....trying them on.  I first tried on the black sunglasses and was surprised to find that they fit very well and I loved how they looked on my face.  Next I tried on the white ones that I had picked.  I was really hoping that they would both fit my face well, especially since the first pair fit so well but the second pair I was not as thrilled about.  Nothing wrong with them, they just weren't the right frames for me.  So I am happy to say that I got a two great pairs of sunglasses now.  One that I wear everyday and a spare pair.

The One of a Kind...Zymbol

 I have seen some pretty cool necklaces in my time but have never seen one as unique as the Zymbol necklace.  This is the first piece of interactive jewelry I have ever had and love it.  The story behind it is fun too.  The Zymbol symbol, that in itself is a fun tongue twister to say, was created completely by accident when the mother of the Short family stacked all the letters from the phrase "LOVE IS ALL YOU NEED" on top of one another then added a peace sign.  She then had it cast into a piece of jewelry without realizing what treasure it contained.  When this jewelry was seen on its side, the short family noticed the letter "K" standing out.  Then, as a family, began to look for other letters and realized that every letter AND number was in this accidental symbol.  The letters were hiding in plain sight. 

The necklace is neat looking but I love that it has a story behind it that I can share with others.  It is also fun to trace out words and phrases using the necklace. I have had many compliments on this necklace and surprised looks when I explain the story behind it and what you can do with it.  The skeptics were soon satisfied once I handed over the necklace for them to look for all the letters and numbers on their own.  Everyone that has tried to look for the letters have had a blast discovering each element of the necklace.  It is made more fun for them because I didn't give them the key of where to find each letter.  It is much more than a piece of jewelry...it is a game that everyone can play and help pass the time no matter where you are.

I think I have a new way of sending birthday cards now too!  Instead of just sending a birthday card, I think I will start purchasing a Zymbol necklace and T-R-A-C-E out HAPPY BIRTHDAY or something similar onto the Zymbol card that is provided and then I would have a card and present in one.  The best part is it would make a great gift for a boy or girl, man or woman, and from ages 3-103!  This necklace is so much fun and thrill to wear and play with.
