Paddy O'Shea's Golf Card Game

Disclosure: I got this product as part of an advertorial.

My family loves board and card games.  We also love to golf.  I couldn't believe it when I found a card game where I could get the best of both.  The Paddy O'Shea's Golf Card Game is so much fun to play.  Munchkin 1, Hubby, and I had a blast playing.

This game is for 2- 6 players and super easy to pick up.  It is a different game each time because it is unpredictable too.  The goal is to have the lowest score at the end.  There are a total of nine rounds (hands) and the game takes less than an hour to play.  Munchkin 2 is not quite old enough to play since she is only for and it is for ages 10 and up but she likes to sit on Hubby and I's lap and help by taking instructions.

The game comes complete with a pad of score cards but if you run out you can print more for free from their website.  I love that because I usually don't realize that we are out of score cards for a game until we sit down to play.  No last minute running to the store for missing elements or meltdowns because we had to pick another game because we didn't have the score cards.

St. Patrick's Day is coming up and Paddy O'Shea's Golf Card Game would be a great gift for someone or just a fun game to play with family or friends.

Mohawk Valley Trading Co. Raw Honey

I want to apologize that there isn't a picture of the Raw Buckwheat Honey.  I took pictures but they disappeared off my camera and by the time I realized it the Raw Buckwheat Honey was already gone.
There is a reason honey was used to make the infamous "Nectar of the Gods" (Mead).  Not only is it delicious, honey is a miracle food that has many health benefits.  One of the health benefits I am in love with is that it works better than OTC cough syrups.  I have never been big on administering medications to my family, especially my children because there are so many natural methods for many ailments that do not have the side effects or artificial ingredients that man-made medications have.

Medical News Today posted an interesting article about honey versus cough syrup,

"If a child has a cough and cold a single dose of buckwheat just before bedtime may relieve the cough and help him/her sleep better, compared to giving nothing or an OTC (over-the-counter) cough medicine, according to an article in Archives of Pediatrics & Adolescent Medicine (JAMA/Archives), December issue." (http://www.medicalnewstoday.com/articles/90536.php).  The article is very informative and a must read.  Here are a few more articles that may be of interest:

Dark Honey Has More Illness-Fighting Agents Than Light Honey

Okay so now that you have seen one very big way that honey has health benefits lets get down to the fun stuff.  The taste!  Mohawk Valley Trading Co. has the tastiest raw honey on the market.  Not only is it tasty they have a variety of different honeys that are all wonderful.

We got the  Raw Buckwheat Honey, Raw Summer Wildflower Honey, Raw Tulip Poplar-Black Locust Honey, and a section of honey comb.  They were SO good.  I loved that each honey had its own flavor profile so they were great for use in different things.

Munchkin 2's Honey Creation.
The Banana and Honey Hotdog
The Munchkins are obsessed with peanut butter sandwiches whether they are with jelly, honey, or banana but since we got the honey they have only been  requesting peanut butter and honey sandwiches.  They haven't even let me open the jar of jelly yet!

Munchkin 2 even made up a new lunch/snack food!  One day she wanted a  hot dog, peanut butter and honey sandwich, and a banana for snack and I told her she could not have all of that for snack so we compromised with the New Banana & Honey Hot dog!  Just a hot dog bun, half a banana, and honey smeared on.  Both Munchkins devoured it!

I would say that is a win for this honey and it is probably safe to say that they definitely prefer Mohawk Valley Trading Co. Raw Honey to the store bought honey I usually get.  Their favorite is the Raw Summer Wildflower Honey.

Ham Cresent Rolls

This is one of my family's favorite meals.  It is easy to make and super delicious.  This recipe is perfect for even the most novice cooks and the pickiest eaters.

Ingredients:
4 oz cream cheese, softened
2 TBSP honey, divided
1 TBSP minced green onions
1 (8 count) package crescent rolls
24 slices thinly sliced ham (I like to use honey ham)
1 TBSP mustard
1/4 c Mayo

Directions:
  1. Preheat oven to 375°
  2. In a bowl, mix cream cheese, 1 TBSP honey, and the green onions.
  3. In a separate bowl, mix together 1 TBSP honey, the mayo, and the mustard until well mixed
  4. Cut ham in half, as close to triangles as you can get.
  5. Separate the crescents into the precut triangles.
  6. Spread the cream cheese mixture onto the crescent dough
  7. Lay 3 slices of ham over the cream cheese mixture on each crescent
  8. Spoon a bit of the may mixture over the ham and spread around
  9. Roll up crescents starting from the wide side, place on ungreased baking sheet.  Make sure to space them as bit so they have room to rise
  10. Bake for 25 mins or until rolls are golden brown

Tips and notes:
  • You can add 1/4 c crushed pineapple (drained) to the mayo mixture to add more sweetness or to make it "Hawaiian"
  • Make extra mayo mixture for a delicious dipping sauce
  • You can add more or less ham depending on your preference
  • Use turkey instead of ham
  • Cut the crescents smaller to make appetizer size

MIRA Glass Digital Kitchen Scale

Disclosure: I got this product as part of an advertorial.
There are many times in the kitchen when you need a scale and the little scale with the cup just wont work or is more of a pain than it is worth.

This kitchen scale has so many great features:

I love that I can put this scale almost anywhere!  It is very slim which means I can stick it between the wall and the microwave or even in a drawer.  The fact that the digit display is large.  It makes it so easy to read even if there is a bit of flour or something spilled.  I don't know about you but I am usually pretty messy when I am in the kitchen.

There are so many colors to choose from as well, blue, red, white, brown, grey, and black.  Something to match any decor.  I got the brown scale and think the color is nice but am thinking I am going to have to get a red one since my kitchen is red and white.
I would recommend the MIRA Glass Digital Scale to anyone who needs a good kitchen scale that is reliable, sleek, and affordable.
