Hot Dots Let's Master Reading and Math Sets by Educational Insights

Disclosure: I got this product as part of an advertorial.

Munchkin 2 is starting to learn her numbers, colors, and letters.  I needed something that could work as an aid in teaching her these vital concepts but that would be fun for her.  I want learning to be fun for her so she forms a love of learning, like Munchkin 1 has.
Educational Insights has many products that are great for learning and make learning fun.  Hot Dots are one of the products that they carry.  Hot Dots have products for math, science, and Language Arts. The sets are available for pre-school through 6th grade.

Although Munchkin 2 is only about to turn 4 I picked the Kindergarten sets because I felt we would get more use out of it before she out grew it.  And not to mention it will prepare her for kindergarten.  We got the Math and Reading sets.  They are so cute.

Munchkin 2 loved them both.  She loved that the little pen that you use is a little blue dog.  He even has a name....ACE!   She did surprising well with the books even though they are for kindergarteners.  Ace lets her know when she has gotten something right or wrong with words but you can also mute the pen and there is red and green lights in his eyes that light up.

I have to say that the mute feature is a gift!  If you are a parent then you know how many toys are lacking this feature so I am glad that it has it so she can still play quietly with the books.

I think Hot Dot books are awesome and love that they have them for several different subjects and age groups so she can continue to use them as she outgrows each level.

Make sure you head over to Educational Insights and see all the different Hot Dots sets and other educational products available.

Bulu Subscription Box

Disclosure: I got this product as part of an advertorial.

Monthly subscription boxes are awesome.  I recently got a Bulu Subscription box.  I couldn't wait to get it and see what goodies I got.  Shipping was very quick so I didn't have to wait long.  I was so excited when I opened my mailbox to see that lovely orange box sitting there waiting for me to rip it open.

Once I got back home I did just that.  I went from a big smile to a smaller smile as it didn't seem like there was very much in the box.  Upon going through the box I found 6 samples.  Not a whole lot.  Only one of the samples was something I felt that I would use at all.  Even more disappointing.

The Samples:
Raspberry-Lemon Flavor Natural Calm Anti-Stress Drink (powder packet)
Simple Being Nutrition Slimming Portion Pack
PowerIce Lime Kicker Electrolyte freeze pop thing
Amino Endurance & Recovery Agent
Body360 Burn 360 Fatburner

Once I got to the brochures that came in the box I found a $25 gift card to LiveWell360.com.  I thought this was awesome and that it made up for the lack of samples and the slim box.  But I was wrong!  Once I went to the site to see what they offered I was shocked to see that the site only offered 3 things, all gym bags.  That wouldn't have been so bad if the cheapest bag wasn't $167.  I think that is a little extreme for a gym bag.

So in total I wasn't thrilled with my Bulu Box.  But to be fair this may have just been a month that did not mesh well with me.  I am willing to try Bulu Box again because as with all subscription boxes, they change month to month and some boxes are a better fit then others.

A Better Goggle

Disclosure: I got this product as part of an advertorial.
http://www.frogglezgoggles.com/
Living in the desert we go swimming a lot.  One major problem we have had when swimming is goggles!  It always seemed that the kids goggles were getting them stuck in their hair, the goggles were falling off, or they didn't sit right so water still got in their eyes.  It was a problem.  Especially for Munchkin 2 because she is so small it is hard to find goggle in her size.

Frogglez Goggles is the perfect google for kids.  They look a little strange when you first see them because of how the strap is but they are super cool.  They fit Munchkin 2's head well  and don't slip and slide on her hair.  The best part?  They float!  Yes, they float!  I have always hated goggles because the Munchkins always drop them and they sink to the bottom and I would have to go retrieve them.  Over and over again.

Frogglez Goggles come in two sizes, Small and medium (large coming soon).  And they come in 3 colors, pink, blue, or green.  They even come in a cute little matching bag.  That means no more scratched goggles!
