Munchkin
1 loves video games and always wants to play games on his phone but
doing this runs down his phone battery and then I can't contact him when
needed. I needed a solution. Something that would keep his interest
and solve the issue of him running down his phone battery.
I am glad to announce that I have found the solution. PlayMG. PlayMG
is a cell phone without the calling and texting. It can do everything a
smartphone can do. It is a non-smartphone smartphone. The android
system running on the PlayMG is Ice Cream Sandwich 4.0, this is the same
android system running his cell phone.
When
I gave Munchkin 1 the PlayMG he was super excited, Munchkin 2 was too.
She sat on the couch and watched Munchkin 1 play. They had a blast
looking for their favorite games and exploring the device.
The
4" screen of the device is large enough that he can see the screen well
while playing without having to squint to see but it still fits in his
pocket perfectly. The games can be downloaded through the Google Play Store just as you would on your tablet or smartphone.
PlayMG also has the MG Family Collaboration System.
You can set up a SmartSpend™ prepaid MasterCard which allows your child
to buy games, apps, and make purchases in the games. The parent signs
up for the card then the child can use the card as they wish until they
have reached the limit. So no overspending and draining your checking
account. You also get an extra $10 when you sign up. Such a great
system to give your child freedom to purchase what they want but still
have boundaries.
And
as we know, kids download a ton of games on their devices and use up
quite a bit of their memory making the device and games run slower. But
when I got the PlayMG and opened the box I was shocked to see that
there were not 1 but 2 memory cards included, an 8GB and a 16GB SD
card. This means Munchkin 1 can download games and apps without having
to worry about running out of space as quickly.
I
wasn't really sure what to expect from the PlayMG because we have had
bad experiences in the past with products not being what we thought they
would be. For example, last year we bought Munchkin 1 a tablet for
his birthday and we couldn't even download games on it. It was a huge
disappointment but the PlayMG is perfect and exactly what we were
looking for in a device.
PlayMG would be a great gift for Christmas and can be purchased from their website or even select Target stores, Toys R Us, or Amazon.com!
