Zuvo Water Filtration System Review and Giveaway

Zuvo Water Filtration System is a 5 step filtration system that imitates the way nature filters water.  The system uses the following steps to filter the water:

Step 1: Ozonation
Step 2: Ultraviolet Light
Step 3: Photo-Oxidation
Step 4: Filtration with Lead Removal
Step 5: Post-filtration UV

You can find more details about these 5 steps here

As we all know water is essential for a healthy diet and the Zuvo system ensures you have delicious, clean, healthy water available without adding waste to the environment from hundreds of water bottles.  In addition it is cost efficient.  You don't have to pay extra for clean water because it comes straight out of your faucet!

The Zuvo Water Filtration System has been tested and recommended by the Cooking Club of America.

The Zuvo Water System is also a PTPAmedia winner.

My review:

I have always used the PUR water filters that hook onto your sink faucet and have never been happy with the quality of water that they provide.  They also have to have their filters replace very often or the water flow begins to get restricted and the unit itself does not last very long.   I started looking around for a different type of filter for my family that would work better and be more cost efficient than the standard snap on faucet filters.

Then I had the chance to try the Zuvo Water filtration system.  I am sure I don't have to tell you how excited I was!  I wasn't quite sure what to expect because I am very picky with my water.  I wouldn't even drink the water from the snap on faucet that we were previously using.  My hubby and Munchkins thought it was okay but I stuck with my trusty bottle water.......like I said......picky.

I had the choice of a under counter model or counter top model.  I chose the under counter model because I have enough things on my counter and thought it would be more out of the way under the counter.

I was super excited when I got the filter and couldn't wait to install it and start using it.  I opened up the box and was thrilled to see that it came with a beverage faucet and I didn't have to buy one.

Installation was not very difficult.  The most difficult part was drilling a new hole in my sink for the beverage faucet.  Many sinks have extra holes already drilled and mine did but I recent;y added a sprayer so that took the only extra hole I had.  Sorry....getting sidetracked.  Drilling the hole still wasn't to difficult.  Connecting the beverage faucet and the filter were super easy.  They came with quick connections so all I had to do was snap the hoses together and that was it!  I was done!  I could have hung it under the sink but decided that I preferred it sitting on the floor of the cabinet.  oddly enough it seemed more out of the way that way, go figure.

Anxious is not a strong enough word to describe how excited I was to try the water but like I mentioned before I am super picky on my water so had to have Munchkin 1 and Hubby try it first which meant I had to wait for Hubby to get home before trying it.  When he got home form work I didn't even let him change first!  I made him try it right then (told you I was excited).  He took a glass of water from the old snap on filter and a glass from the new Zuvo filter and we were shocked at the difference in how the water came out.  And this was before even trying the water.  The snap on faucet was slow even though the filter was new while the Zuvo system had great water flow.  Another thing we had noticed was for some reason we had to wait for the water to settle with the old filter because it always looked stirred up when it came out but the Zuvo water was crystal clear the moment it came out.  See the picture below to see what I mean.

See the difference?  Crazy right?!  After we examined the water Hubby tasted it and then the water from the old filter to compare the two.  He kept going back and forth between glasses taking sips and making face and I couldn't figure out what he was thinking.  So I am on the sidelines asking him over and over "So?" and "What do you think?" and "Is it better?"  He finally answered with......."It doesn't taste like anything"  I didn't understand so I took a sip and tasted nothing, which is how I like my water, tasteless.  I was thrilled!  This meant I could stop buying bottle water and save a ton of money.  And I would never run out of drinking water for myself which happened all the time.

This filter is wonderful!  I love that the filter canister has a light that comes on when it is on and a buzzer that sounds when the filter needs to be changed.  What other system notifies you when it needs to be changed?

The filters have a longer life than most other filters too which again saves money and also the environment.  Check out the chart below that shows filter usage for different systems.

This next chart shows the price difference between filters.

  2. We currently buy bottled water from the store and use it in our coffeemakers. Because we have such hard water, it is the one way we can make them last longer.

  29. Even though this seems like a great water filter system, it let's me know something very important, that UV isn't as great as they keep saying. If the water filter system above needs two stages of UV sterilization, it obviously means that the UV doesn't kill all bacteria as promoted by all other water filter companies using UV. Great writeup.
