Biscuit Recipe

I use biscuits for many different things because they are do versatile.  You can change their flavor or flatten them out and make a pizza dough.  There are countless ways to use a biscuit dough.  The recipe you will find below will make a biscuit like the ones you get from a Bisquick mix.

Biscuits

Total time: 15 minutes
Servings: 9

Ingredients

2 1/4 cups Baking Mix
2/3 cups cold milk

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 450 degrees.
  2. Combine mix and milk until a soft dough forms.  (do not over mix)
  3. knead the dough about 10 times on a flat surface that has been sprinkled with a bit of baking mix.
  4. roll the dough out until it is about 1/2 inch thick
  5. use cookie cutter to cut out biscuits
  6. Place cut biscuits on an ungreased cookie sheet ( I like to brush then with a bit of melted butter before baking)
  7. Bake for about 8-10 minutes, until golden brown.

Don't be afraid to experiment with your biscuits.  Make different shapes, try drop biscuits, add cheese and garlic.  Use the dough to make dumplings for chicken and dumplings.  There are SO many things you can do with biscuits.
