Make your own Bisquick Mix

Don't buy Bisquick anymore!  I make my own baking mix and it is just as good.  If not better!  I love the versatility of biscuits so like to have a mix prepared because it cuts down on prep time for the biscuits.  With this recipe it is just like any other biscuit mix, all you have to do is add the liquid ingredients when you are ready to make some super yummy biscuits!  It is much cheaper then buying mixes from the store and doesn't contain all the preservatives.  You can even add seasonings or spices to the mix if you wish.

This mix can also be used to make pancakes and waffles, just like store bought Bisquick.   So don't limit yourself just to biscuits.

Homemade Baking Mix (Bisquick Mix)

Makes about 2 cups

2 cup flour
3 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 tablespoons Palm Shortening

Mix all dry ingredients together then cut in the shortening.

You are all set!

If you store this mix in an airtight container it can last for months just like the boxes variety.
